My Students

Our students are rural Minnesotan kids. Our students have great work ethic and pride for their school. Our school has a high poverty rate. Students have the mentality of taking care of their school and their property. Our school is very clean, and our equipment is well taken care of. Our kids do not have a lot of exposure to art, as we do not have museums or public sculptures locally. Most of our students' experiences with art happen in art class.

My Project

Oh no! Our art room is running out of paint, and has already ran out of white paint and gesso! This year we have had larger than anticipated class sizes, and materials are running out very quickly.

We need more paint to finish this year's curriculum.

Some of the projects that we still need to complete that require paint are painting our handmade clay book covers and painting our fairy garden houses. We already have both of these projects sculpted from clay and fired, we just need a little more paint to finish off the project. We will use the gesso to refurbish used canvases for senior high painting projects.
