I teach all levels of theatre at Laney High School in Wilmington NC. Our program is relatively large, with two full time theatre teachers, but funding is very low for the program so some items are beyond our reach.
My kids are very hard working, super dedicated actors who are extremely passionate about our craft.
They do all of their own fundraising for our shows and to date have funded every project we have done. In our district we are not allowed to charge tickets for our performance, so once our budget is gone (roughly 1000 for the whole program for a year) we have to raise money for scripts, costumes, make up or anything else we need. (which we do happily)
My kids are a collection of high school students from Southeast North Carolina. We are a diverse group of guys and girls who are an extremely inclusive and happy group.
My Project
Our technical theatre students will use these products to repaint our stage to flat black as well as paint the flats we are using for our full length theatre production "The Roses of Oshiro Village"
The paint here will be used to create beautiful flats of cherry blossom hills for our full length play.
This play is a world premier and my kids are super excited for it to be as professional as possible. The five gallons of black will be used to repaint the floor of the stage so that the stage will look nice for the premier.
