My Project

We have lots of technology in our makerspace: a 3-D printer, robots, drones, and circuits. Students who don’t really enjoy these tech activities have started asking, “Is there anything in the makerspace for us?” The answer must be an emphatic “Yes!” Thanks to DonorsChoose supporters we created a reading corner with beautifully displayed books to share. Now it’s time to add a painting station.

‘Paint & Sips’ encourages creativity and expression and is growing in popularity.

When our 7th-grade girls asked for a paint and sip, I couldn’t say no. So now we are on a mission to collect supplies and materials like canvas boards, paint brushes, and acrylic paint to make it happen. Parents have stepped up, giving support and volunteering to join us for the fun to help supervise and share their talents. Since none of us are artists we are hoping to get some adult-ish paint-by-number sets to scaffold the fun. Our hope is to kick off the paint and sip before the end of March and then continue with a painting station in our makerspace through the end of the school year. Please consider helping us to make this wonderful addition to our space so that all students feel welcomed and valued.
