My Project

My students are 18-21 years olds with special needs. They are in a specialized program to support their transition from high school to adult services, with paid employment being the ultimate goal. The desire is for them to have meaningful, fulfilling, paid employment where they add value to their place of business and give back to their communities. They develop the necessary skills through internships and classroom instruction.

To prepare them for employment, we create a lot of materials for practicing interview skills, learning job expectations, internship reports, the development of "soft skills," etc.

We create job task boxes for practicing "hard skills" in class. These require the materials to be laminated to sustain their extensive, repetitive use. Many documents are needed in working with employment specialists and county agencies. The need is great for printer paper, ink, and laminating pouches. We serve 44 students. Our employment rate before the pandemic was over 90%!
