My library is the hub of learning at my school. The demographics of my school are 100% free/reduced lunch, 32% mobility/transient, and 100% minority.
JWS is committed to providing a full range of services to our students and community including a STEM curriculum with gardens, makerspace labs, and technology labs.
My school has a full time client staffed by a physician assistant and food bank at least two times a month.
The teachers and administration at my school are committed to providing a rigorous and well rounded education to all.
The library media center at my school is the hub of activity. It is a bright and open space full of light and warmth.
The only thing missing is the student stamp on the space.
My students need art supplies and canvases to help put a kid touch to the library. We are engagning in a project called page to canvas. Students will read books, sans covers, and then paint what they thing the cover should be like. We need canvases, paint, and brushes to do this project.
The canvases will be displayed permenantly at the ciruclation desk for years to come.
