My Students
Our day is usually packed full, and a lot of it is spent reading! This means that I need a large library full of interesting books for 50 fourth graders to read independently, and not get bored throughout the year.
A lot of my students struggle finding just right books to read on their own. This means they spend a lot of wasted time back and forth to the bookshelf. Being the largest elementary school in Alabama, with over 1,400 students, it is not always easy to find books they are interested in in the school library. I need to pack out my class library!
My Project
Teaching reading to 50 kids in two different classes each day can be a challenge when having to be the one to provide the books. I have spent countless dollars on books out of my own pocket, and am always in need of help. I want to pack out my bookshelf!
With this donation, I want to be able to provide my students with meaningful books on their level. I want them to have books to read about topics that they like. If they are interested in a book, they will sit down, and learn how much fun books can be!
