This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach 21 brilliant Pre-K students who come to school every day excited to learn. My students' favorite time of day is choice time, this is a time when they engage in purposeful play with their classmates at learning centers. We have choice time first thing in the morning when my students arrive at school, and again in the afternoon. We have a variety of centers in my classroom including dramatic play, blocks, technology, art, library, listening, science, math, writing, and puzzles.
My Project
My young learners love spending time at our puzzle center; however, we only have a handful of puzzles to use. After two months of school, my students are becoming tired of doing the same puzzles everyday. I am hoping to provide a variety of puzzles for my students to use during each of our thematic units. The families puzzles will be in our center during our unit: Families Everywhere. The vehicles puzzles will be available during our unit: On the Move.
Our puzzle center is vital in helping students develop logic and motor skills.
These puzzles will also help our students to make connections to what we are learning about during our thematic units. Providing a variety of puzzles will ensure my students will want to spend time at our puzzle center every day!
