This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our children have a high interest in learning. Students come from high poverty neighborhoods, which results in a large percentage of free or reduced-price lunch recipients. Our children are beginning to learn how to become life-long learners..
My students need new supplies so they are able to continue to create.
This is their first year of school. They are starting their school journeys. As their teacher, I strive to give them as many new learning opportunities as possible their first year of school. I teach them to be independent and responsible students.
My Project
My students love to use play dough. They use it every day to practice their numbers, letters, and shapes. They learn how to roll it out and make snakes that can be used to make numbers and letters. My students always want to use it for free choice time as well.
My students love using play dough!
When children have strong fine motor strength, then their fine motor skills will improve. My students learn how to write their names when they come to school, but it can be difficult without hand strength. Using play dough helps to strengthen small hands and they have fun as well.
