This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are an amazingly resilient group! Being mostly second language learners, they are already fighting an uphill battle. We are working on changing our educational mindsets and are determined to do better, to be better. They are always asking questions and are very intrigued with technology. Since that is the direction that our world is going, I foster their goals, plans, and excitement with weekly STEAM activities.

These kids are the sunshine in every day.

Their smiles and excitement for learning make going to work easy and fun.

They love to challenge themselves in all areas of the curriculum and have been making steady growth throughout the year. I am very proud of their hard work and dedication. Many of my students do not have technology at home and are only exposed at school.

My Project

I'm trying to get my kids to start coding with robots and would like to try Ozobots! I've seen them in action and I know my students would absolutely love them!

Ozobots are super easy to use with markers and an app the kids are on their way to coding and robotics!

My students complete and hour of code every week, but I 'd like to give them further options to explore coding. Ozobots are little robots that look like R2D2 and follow the instructions created by students (code) on an app. Students can then draw lines with the special Ozobot markers and away they go!
