These students are first grade students located on Air Force base housing with a 100% military population. These students come from all over, and sometimes this is their 2nd or 3rd school in just the few years they've been in school. I want to provide a fun atmosphere for my students that makes them feel welcome and comfortable.
All students should feel safe and welcome in a classroom.
With the students that our school serves, I want to make sure I do just that.
My Project
My students need to be engaged beyond the basic curriculum and learn the basics of computer coding with the Ozobot system. Ozobot gives the students the power to build routes and overcome obstacles by coding paths for a robot to follow. Students can create challenges for their peers to conquer as well. Engagement through technology!
This Ozobot robots will engage my students in critical thinking and help them blossom with problem-solving capabilities through coding.
Working together to solve challenges will also foster communication and collaboration skills. Ozobot has created accessory kits, like the construction kit, to make the challenges engaging and give the children a task to complete by programming their robot. The Ozobot system introduces the basics of computer coding and uses tablets to introduce challenges and computer coding terms.
