Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This is my sixth year as a teacher, and every year, I continue to learn. Through the supportive staff and the amazing opportunities to grow as a teacher, I can't see what there isn't to love.

My students are what drive me every single day to not only be a better person, but to be a better teacher.

Working at a Title I school, my students come from many different backgrounds, but coming from a different background has not stopped them from wanting to come to school and bettering themselves as students. Their enthusiasm and love for learning is the light on the darkest of days. Although they all learn in different ways, they always want to help each other within the classroom and outside of the classroom. As a teacher, I couldn't want anything more.

My Project

Doing STEM during the pandemic is very difficult with the lack of supplies that I have in my classroom. There is a lot of sanitizing involved and sadly there are a lot of supplies in my classroom that are not able to be used.

I would love to continue incorporating STEM by gaining more Ozobots for my classroom.

Ozobots are a lowkey coding tool that can be used across all subject areas. I've used them in science, reading, and my favorite way is to use them in Math. This little tool adds on a little more engagement for my students and makes learning more fun! Gaining 16 more in my classroom would allow every student to have one to use and would cut down on the spread of germs and time for sanitation.

I would love to gain enough Ozobots for every student so that I can teach my students the art of coding while also engaging them across all subject areas.
