My students need Ozobots as classroom pets to provide them with coding skills that will make them successful in a 21st century learning environment!
This project expired on June 4, 2018.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
I have the sweetest class of first graders that come from many different backgrounds and cultures. I have students from Italy, India, Iraq, England and China just to name a few!
I have the opportunity to teach students who are still acquiring the English language!
That means that I need a variety of activities for my students to learn the English language. My goal for my class is to enrich their learning through the incorporation of STEM, grow a classroom community where students feel accepted, and create an environment where students' love for learning can grow!
My students will be using these Ozobots to learn skills of the 21st century! Ozobots will provide students with opportunities to learn coding skills and complete STEM activities. Ozobots are tiny robots that measure an inch high, that recognize and respond to color codes and patterns that are drawn and created by students.
Students will learn to problem solve in unique ways through the use of simple robotics, which will teach them life-long skills they can apply towards their future careers!
Introducing these skills and problem-solving strategies at a young age will really benefit students in the long run. My students will be challenged at a level they otherwise wouldn't be, and will learn to become life-long learners. Each child will be able to experience technology in a unique way. My students will become engineers, scientists, and mathematicians as they explore and learn through Ozobots.
