My students come from very diverse backgrounds. We are close to Military bases and a few of my students' families serve in the armed forces. They are eager to learn and have an amazing amount of energy. I have to keep them moving in order to maintain their attention. My students need hands on lessons.
I want my students to grow and be prepared for the 21st century real world.
They live in a rural area and many have not been outside the small town. We are a Title One school with more than half of the students on free or reduced lunch. They inspire me to jump up every morning and start a new day of learning no matter what obstacles life will bring that day.
My Project
My students need to be introduced to stem technology. This will be intregrated in all four core subjects focusing on Math as well as Literature and Writing. My students will write commands for math problems to become better problem solvers. My students will write programming procedures for other students which will require calibration.
The Ozobot Evo will prepare my students for the 21st century in STEM.
All four content areas students will learn to draw conclusions, collect data and writing on the cause and effect. My students need hands-on learning to become engaged and the Ozobot will fit those needs. I want my students to be aware of the global need of coding. For many of my students this will be the only place for them to gain the knowledge.
