Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

The student in my classroom have extremely low reading levels. Some of my students struggle with low self esteem. My students come from low income families. My students are showing signs of improvement, yet they need the extra materials to become successful in reading. They have the heart and desire to read on their grade level. They try extremely hard to learn the basics of reading. They also have the excitement to become better readers. Our class motto is "I Can Read"; with your help we can be successful and achieve our motto.

My Project

We will use the ozobots for reading and cross curriculum. We will use them for coding, sight words, letter recognition, and phoneme segmentation. It will not only keep them engaged in hands-on, but will help with reading and coding. It will be a great source to use for observation.

We will help them to identify numbers and recognize shapes and colors in mathematics.

We will use it to approve social skills among low self-esteem students. They will give students a sense of belonging and being a leader in the group. They are perfect to introduce students to coding in a simple way.
