My students need ozobots to learn coding basics, develop problem solving skills, and pattern recognition.

My Students

I an a new Kindergarten teacher in a small rural school in California. My students have been without a teacher for most of the year and are without learning supplies including art supplies, building blocks, manipulatives, elementary science equipment, magnets, legos, etc. Only 13-15% of the student population are profecient in English and Math. Most of my students are far below basic in reading, writing, math, and science. 82% of my students are from low-income families and do not have books and materials at home. I have been hired mid-year and want to bring enthusiasm to the classroom.

I hope to share my love of learning with them and prepare them to be life-long learners.

They are excited to learn Science and explore the STEM fields and I want to provide them with the opportunity to do so.

My Project

I am creating a new Makerspace in my K-1st Classroom and need STEM materials. With a class set of Ozobots, students will work in small groups to create mazes, paths, and respond to the ozobot's actions.

Ozobot activities will introduce my students to the basics of coding and advance their skills leading to more advanced programming concepts.

With Ozobots, a foundation in robotics will be introduced that allow students to be creative and explore various robotic skills. Students will also use the Ozobots to code stories to develop literacy skills.

Students will become engaged and inspired when topics come alive with the help of Ozobots.
