Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My school is the true definition of a melting pot. We have students from France, Central and South America and the U.S. We are the oldest elementary in Miami. It's a very quaint and versatile school, and I love it. Some of my students are new to this country and are learning the English language. The other students are trying to achieve their learning goals one step at a time. I'm very proud of my class for their perseverance.
My students need resources that will allow them to practice reading comprehension skills independently through differentiated instruction.
My Project
I will use the printer and paper to create vocabulary and literacy centers that will motivate students to learn. These centers will help the students practice reading skills they have not mastered. They will read different reading sources and apply reading skills they have not mastered. The students will use the clip boards to practice flexible seating. They will have the choice to sit where they choose. The will be engaged in reading centers, and find learning in a fun matter. The students will work in pairs to use task cards that will focus on comparing and contrasting text, find problems and solutions and inference. This will give them extra practice, so they make learning gains.
