Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
During this time of sheltering in place, students around the world are doing their best to keep learning. Families are juggling working from home, going to work to their essential job, wondering if they still have a job with making sure their children have what they need and are able to learn from home.
Help provide my students with the materials they need to make this time of learning from home more meaningful.
Some of my students are struggling with reliable internet, having to share a Chromebook, trying to find a quiet place to study. This project will help provide some much needed off-screen activities.
My Project
Before we left the classroom, we had been studying systems. In particular how an owl's claws, eyes, and wings work together as a system to catch its prey. We had been looking forward to dissecting owl pellets to see what an owl's catch and eat. We never got to the dissection.
Help my students continue their inquiry at home.
This project will allow my students to have their own owl pellet to dissect at home. It would be wonderful to provide the opportunity for this learning to continue as we are all learning from a distance.
