Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

I am currently a first grade teacher in Chicago, IL. Our classroom is in need of overhead math manipulatives. This year our school purchased a new math program. With the program came many manipulatives. However, the kits did not include demonstration materials for the teacher. It would be easier for students to understand problems if they could be demonstrated by the teacher and other students on the overhead projector. The students have most of these manipulatives from the kit, but we lack the overhead demonstration tools. I am requesting the donation of an overhead math manipulatives kit. The kit includes many manipulatives including, money, base ten blocks, dominoes, and clocks. My students are currently working on place value, addition, money, and time. Please consider making a donation of math learning manipulatives to our classroom. Thank you for your consideration.
