My students need extra support in math and reading. We are lacking resources and need extra support to provide students with reading and math practice to strengthen third grade skills.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with over 95% of our students receiving free lunch. My students are growing and learning in a tight-knit school community that has inspired me to become a teacher. Our kids are dreamers, thinkers, scientist, mathematicians, inspiring readers, and relentless questioners.
They are inspirations to themselves and others around them.
They are our future and I want to give them a great start to their long successful career. Our school serves students in grades K-5 and provides rigorous academics, fantastic teachers, and a safe learning environment.
My Project
We are lacking resources at my school. We, as teachers, spend hours searching for reading text, station games and math items that correlate to our standards. We are requesting, alphabet letters, Singapore Math Bundle Gr 3, Evan-moor - Literacy Centers Gr 3, and Teacher Created Resources - Writing Prompts Gr 3 kits.
These resources will help our students focus and strengthen needed math and reading skills.
We will use them during small group, whole group and station activities during guided reading.
The alphabet letters will provide students with practicing building words and sentences. The will use these to create words and find root words, prefixes, and suffixes.
