We start out eating breakfast and swiftly transition into our morning meeting. Then we kick off our two hours of reading. Next, we have math and I try to incorporate centers. We have lunch and recess, and then switch back to math. We then go to fitness, and then return for social studies and science
We are a small charter school about twenty miles north of Cincinnati.
I have sixteen first graders. They are all hungry for an engaging learning experience. Most of my students come from low social-economic homes, most of my students are on free or reduced price lunch. My students are struggling with behavioral issues and I am constantly looking for new ways to improve my classroom management. This project will definitely help us promote positive behavior.
My students for the most part are below average in reading. That is why we need this! We have few resources and we really need it to help us learn in many different perspectives.
My Project
As you can see in our picture, we have more books that we can handle. We need a bookshelf! So, we are asking for two bookshelves. We plan to get more and more books, because we need them! We LOVE reading! We also need clipboards, because we sometimes have to observe things, and our teacher is short on a few. We use these for scientific experiments and other various things.
We would love a tablet to motivate us into better behavior and be rewarded by playing this tablet. We will have a sticker chart, and students who are the best get to be rewarded with an allotted amount for rewarding apps. The secret is they will only get to play educational games.
This will help our classroom look a lot better, it will also provide us with a quicker selection for books and a better outcome with our learning experience.
We will love to be all scientific with our handy-dandy clipboards. Last but not least, we really want that tablet. It will be a positive learning environment and a positive reward system.
