Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students all come from low-income households and school is their place to interact with others their age. It is also where they get to engage with other adults since most have families where their parents are working almost all day. Our school is small and resources for our students are not easily accessible. But despite that, our preschoolers are always eager to learn and come to school. We allow them to become who they want to become as they begin their journey to kindergarten and towards their future.
Although funds at our school are not usually available or are very scarce, we do the best that we can with what we have and our children are always eager and excited to be at school.
We are like their second family and there is nothing better than seeing my children's smiling faces when they enter my classroom.
My Project
We are requesting small bins to help keep the materials in our centers organized. The bins we currently have are broken in some areas and have been written on over the past several years. The bins are also too small and make it difficult for my children to properly remove from our shelves. These new bins will not only help me teach my children independence but it will help me teach them in a safe manner.
Teaching children to become organized human beings at a young age will help them become organized adults!
The large bins we are requesting will help store materials from the different studies we do throughout the year. Right now, everything is stored in plastic bags because of the lack of storage materials we have available. These bins would make a huge difference in our classroom!
