This project will help all of our students that range from below to above grade level. In order to make sure each child is getting what they need, we do a lot of individualized centers. My biggest challenge, when it comes to teaching these students, is having enough materials. My kids are hungry to learn!
We have many students that are from low income, rural families.
My students come from a small, farm town. My students are very curious about the world. Due to their income and home responsibilities, many of them have never left the area. They are all very eager to learn and read! Our school is very bright and encouraging. For many students, this is the highlight of their day. All of my students are also being given an opportunity to develop their own skills and talents in a way, and at the pace that is best for them, through differentiated instruction.
My Project
All of our students love hands-on materials! These materials will allow our school to differentiate instruction during math and literacy centers. These manipulatives will create focus while keeping engagement. Osmo uses innovative technology by enabling students to use an iPad in conjunction with actual manipulatives. This will allow us teachers to easily customize digital content to meet the needs of each student in our classrooms.
The program we would like includes 5 sets of Words, Tangram, Numbers, Coding Awbie, Coding Jam, Coding Duo, Monster with Creative Board, and Pizza Co; it also includes 20 new Osmo iPad Bases, Masterpiece and Newton programs.
The uses of these programs are endless! It will allow us to cover subject areas including spelling, math, language, and coding!
