My Students

I work at a high poverty school, therefore after school programs are very important! In girl's running club we learn about healthy habits, communication with others, and teamwork.

In addition to teaching K/1 English Language Learners, I conduct a volunteer running club after school for girls grades 3rd-5th.

We're going on year 2 of learning about healthy habits and team sports...and we love it!

Running in silence can get boring and isn't as motivating for some. An outdoor speaker would really add some fun to our runs!

My Project

An outdoor speaker would add some life to our runs as we prepare for our final 5K! My girls love running and adding music to our runs is definitely more exciting and motivating. Not only could my running club girls use this, but PE classes as well for the entire school.

Our school doesn't have an outdoor track so running with the small speaker I brought from home doesn't reach very far out on the playground.

When we have to run in the gym due to certain weather outside, I have seen the difference it makes in their excitement to participate and keep going!
