Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Every. Single. Day. I am blown away by what my students are able to do with how little they have. Many come from abusive pasts, countries around the world, or homes without food.
Despite these hardships, all of my 6th graders come to school each day with a passion to learn more than they knew the day before.
For this particular set of kids, learning doesn't come easy. But, that has never stopped them and it never will. My students are becoming writers who want to change the world!
My Project
Winter in the northeast is no joke! We've been inside for way too long and we all can't wait for the warmer weather to come.
The materials asked for in this project will help bring writer's workshop to the great outdoors.
I can picture it now, students laid out on the picnic blankets with the new clipboards writing a short story. Others enjoying one of the new books on the benches.
Having the opportunity to get students outside to write will open new doors to their imagination and writing. Right now we only have enough clipboard for about half the class, so having enough for each student will be great for taking adventures outdoors!
