Please allow me to introduce my awesome students to you. They are students with a variety of special needs that are included within the regular classroom setting and at times are pulled out to work within small groups; sometimes within the learning support classroom and others times remaining within their general education classroom setting. My students' disabilities don't define who they are from autism to learning disabled; they learn from one another abilities to make learning fun. They are, excited, energetic, and motivated to learn in different ways.
"Please can't we read out in the courtyard?" is a question I get asked often now that the weather is warming up!
I love that we have an outdoor learning garden that I can utilize for my students. My students love to make connections to hands on activities and resources. They love to empower themselves with their strengths and work on subjects that are challenging for them.
At times, my students may need a break. Let's face it, school can be hard for those who have daily challenges. My students utilize a variety of behavior strategies to help them relax and make learning less stressful. Our courtyard has been most helpful!
Our outdoor learning garden is in need of additional supplies to encourage not only my students to participate but additional classes from our school to come visit the courtyard. We are in need of outdoor furniture and garden supplies to offer a variety of activities to our school. Our students and teachers enjoy working in the courtyard and incorporating it into their math, reading, science, and even music or art classes.
We want ALL students from our school to feel welcome in the courtyard!
We want to provide an enjoyable and inviting learning environment with hands-on experiences for our students. Please help us spruce up our courtyard with some much needed seating and gardening supplies!
