My students need stone bricks, Giant Polydron Sets and other outdoor toys and garden bench storage to store the new materials to enhance their outdoor learning experience.
Our blended classes include children with special needs and their typically developing peers. In our blended classroom for three- and four-year-olds, we have such an exciting and diverse group of mixed interests, abilities, and goals. Some of the students are learning to tell stories, write, read, and count, while some of their classmates are learning to imitate sounds, play with others, tolerate sound and touch or hold a paintbrush.
Our campus consists of five Early Childhood classrooms with approximately 70 students.
In our classes, we are a school family built around what we have in common and our shared experiences. We celebrate little wins and accomplishments together each day.
We are playing to learn and learning to play! Our group loves to play inside and outside, have hands-on experiences, and try new things. The playground is instrumental in stimulating all our senses and allowing all children to be involved. This is the research of the small child.
As Albert Einstein said, "Play is the highest form of research."
Play is how young children learn.
My Project
Preschool children learn best through active, engaging play. Our preschool program has an outdoor learning time daily where the students are able to participate in gross motor and fine motor activities. Children can climb on the playground structures, play in the outdoor kitchen, draw with chalk, blow bubbles and more.
The items requested will enhance student learning and imaginative play.
Students will be able to build structures with the polydron blocks and stone bricks. They will be able to work on gross motor skills with the Balance of Nature Set. The storage benches will be an asset to the playground in keeping all of our outdoor learning items safe and secure when not in use.
The children in the program absolutely love outdoor learning time, and I cannot wait to improve it with these new items.
