This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Last year we designed and built our own garden and are ready to take our outdoor learning environment to the next level.

My students are energetic and curious scientists.

They love to get into a project and make it their own. This year we are studying how our garden grows and need equipment to make it a year round learning environment. We designed our garden for the whole school.

My Project

We will install our weather station in the garden and make connections to the weather and how our garden grows. We will use our soil tester to understand how soil pH affects the plants we grow. The scissors will be used for working in the garden, cutting twist tie supports for our tomatoes.

The garden is important to us because it is completely ours.

We designed it, built it and grew our own vegetables. Now we want to customize the garden with science equipment. It is important for students to learn real life skills.
