We have a diverse group of Pre-K students who are ready and excited to learn! With your support, they can grow, learn, and spread their excitement for education into their future academic career. Pre-K is a special place for children to learn how to get along with others while building self confidence and self esteem. They learn how to socialize with others, manage disagreements, and build key communication skills needed in the future.
We are curious and active learners who love to make new discoveries by exploring our surroundings.
It's hard for a four year old to sit and listen for long periods of time. That's why we learn through play! Our classroom materials are essential to our learning process. The materials we play with allow us to role play, reenact what we have learned, illustrate, create, build, rebuild, count, and manipulate water/sand flow. Sometimes we don't understand the purpose of an object so we play around and test our theories. Sometimes we'll think some more and try out a new ways to use our materials. We make observations and discuss what we notice. Through our discussions, we draw conclusions that help us to make sense of the world.
My Project
Art is everywhere in our lives. My Pre-K students love art! It's one of their favorite centers throughout the day. They let out their creativity and ingenuity making some of the most beautiful things. Sometimes they surprise you with the most eccentric creations.
Instead of limiting art to our classroom, why not bring materials for art outdoors?
I am requesting squeeze bottles and materials to create chalk paint so my students can create artwork outside in our playground. I am also requesting sidewalk chalk as another art medium for my students to use outdoors. I hope the great outdoors will inspire my students to create some fabulous art work!
