My Students

Our middle school library has undergone a transformation over the past two years. With the implementation of a maker space area and an updated collection, our library is growing into the learning hub of our school!

Our students are full of creativity, curiosity, and imagination!

The activities, resources, and materials in our Makerspace support this daily. Some of the most exciting areas of our Makerspace are the 3D printing tools. Our students are amazed by the ability to create using these amazing resources. Adding to this area will allow our students to create and grow, as well as expose them to careers and technologies they may otherwise never experience.

My Project

As my students have become more and more interested in STEM activities and "making", the need for further education on the engineering design process has become clear. With the help of the Museum of Science, my students will be able to investigate and use this process in a real-world problem solving situation.

Outbreak Alert: Engineering a Pandemic Response will allow my students to participate in a life or death experiment to see if we can stop the spread of this deadly disease!

Through hands-on investigation and inquiry, students will use their knowledge of math, science and the design process to create a cure. Will be we be bioengineers that save the day?
