My Students

Each class takes on a unique personality of its own. Over the course of a year, my students grow and develop a unique sense of community. My current 3rd graders are curious, spontaneous, and love a good challenge. They keep me on my toes and provide plenty of laughter throughout the day.

We are very fortunate to walk into a school every day​ that feels more like a family than a set of students and teachers.

Our school is considered a high poverty school. Our free and reduced-price lunch rate is over 70%, and a lot of our students come to school lacking the basic necessities. They also come to us lacking the necessary academic, social, and life skills needed to truly succeed right away. Every adult in our building makes an effort to do whatever it takes to make each student feel loved, cared for, and successful.

My Project

iPads are useful resources in a classroom, but our current devices are outdated and many programs will not run anymore. These iPads will allow us to use our current resources as well as obtain new ones to help reinforce skills we are learning in the classroom. I'm also excited that more than one or two students at a time will be able to use these resources.

New iPads will allow us to use our Osmo technology more often, gain hands-on computer science skills, and provide learners will valuable skill practice.

The possibilities do not stop at academics! These resources will help me provide rewards such as listening to music and tech time. They will also help me reach my students who need help regulating their emotions by providing social stories and other resources. These iPads have the potential to help every student in my classroom, and I am excited about the possibilities!
