Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Have you ever tried to show a movie and you have to put books under the projector so people can see it? We use an Xbox to show workouts but we don't have a platform on which to set it.
I teach Physical Education in a high poverty, inner city, public school in Indiana.
Our school has almost 600 students, K-6, who love Physical Education! I see every student twice a week. We rarely go outside to play, and I want to teach the students how to exercise inside. Wouldn't it be wonderful if they could then go home and teach their families what they've learned? By doing this, the entire family will be exercising together, and everyone would be in shape!
Help me help them with childhood obesity!
My Project
Having an adjustable utility cart that we could put our Xbox on when we show workout DVDs would be awesome. A cart with a locking cabinet that we could store our DVDs and games in would be very good. This cart would be tall enough to allow us to show workout DVDs on the screen we have in the gym. The students love participating in the workouts we have on DVD and have a hard time when the workouts don't project properly on the screen.
Donations to this project will help over 600 students in my school get on the right road to do their part to fight childhood obesity.
With your help, we can get our students on the right track to start their own fitness program. Students will benefit from this program for many years to come. Teaching the students the importance of staying in shape is the key to their future.
