Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from many diverse backgrounds, often with English as their second language. Our school is centered in a low socioeconomically disadvantaged neighborhood where parents often work two or three jobs. Over 85% of our students receive free or reduced-priced breakfast and lunch daily.
Due to lack of community and family resources, my students do not have access to technology and advanced coding applications to compete in this fast and growing job market.
I want to change this, and with your help I can provide these needed materials to give them an added chance of success. Technology in the classroom should no longer be a luxury.
My Project
My students need an iPad to run the Dash and Dot Wonder robotic software. My tech hungry students are ready to move beyond the computer coding applications and move into real-life coding. But we can't do it without a mobile device to download the app.
With this iPad, my students can strengthen their coding skills and see their hard work through the actions of the robots.
These robots work together to perform a variety of tasks, but we can't code them with out an iPad. Your donation would provide our classroom with the software resources, as well as provide another access point for student research and project based learning.
