Being a Kindergarten teacher for over 20 years has been truly a wonderful experience watching how 5 and 6 years changed and evolved from less play to more independent reading. This year, I have a very exceptional group of SUPERSTARS! They are all so… motivated to LOVE school. My school community is very diverse with various cultural backgrounds. Many of my students are from low-income households and the majority of my students are of Hispanic descent where English is their second language. It has been my personal challenge to be a better teacher than the year before. Keeping up with current trends and needs for students is very vital in our world today.
I want to keep my Kinders happy, entertained, interested and enjoy learning with colorful activities!
I am in need of replacing ink for my Laser Jet Printer. At my grade level, I implement a “Center Based Classroom” which consists of Learning Centers. These centers are extra tools to enhance the learning of concepts, skills, themes, or topics which students can work on independently or with others to practice the information learned in the classroom.
Research has proven our brains are made to be attracted to “Novelty” that actually improves our memory and learning capacity.
I want to continue printing and adding to our “Unusual Teacher Library” - fun teacher made materials with clip art software to accommodate skills such as phonics, alphabets, sight words, numbers, graphing, shapes, colors, etc. My centers can change every 3 to 4 weeks therefore this will require lots of printing as skills change throughout the year.
