Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are very diverse, but one thing they all have in common is the will to learn and grow. They see the world differently from what we do as adults. These views have helped me connect the world to them and allow them to learn more as well. Times have changed, and we, as educators, have to consider their views. My students believe in having a voice and are willing to let everyone know what they feel and see.
My Project
My students are learning what it takes to make a film, they have seen many Hollywood hits and now is their time to make one on their own. In our Audio and Visual Technology class they hope to be able to experience being part of film creation.
"I'm a storyteller - that's the chief function of a director and they're moving pictures, let's make 'em move" - Howard Hawks.
They have ideas, they have a vision, they have dreams. With this project I hope to make it a reality, a talent to display for all to see. The Camera will be used as the main device to capture their ideas, and with the help of the grip it will make every angle the perfect angle. Microphones will provide clear and amazing sounds, from dialogue to background action noises in order to give each scene it's unique touch. The lights will make for better quality in each moment they film, it provides the necessary exposure they need.
We can't wait to see their creative minds go to work, they will experience every aspect of a film. Directors, acting, writing, editing, sound check, are all perfect example of the different roles they will each have.
