My students need books to read together as a school to build a love for literacy!

The students at our school are 21st century learners who are eager to learn. They are creative, determined, and curious and continue to amaze me everyday. Our school is considered a low income Title I School, in which 58% of our school population receive free or reduced lunch prices. Despite the challenges they face, I am looking continuously motivate and encourage a mentality of life long learning into these young minds. These materials will be used to support our students who are facing challenges within learning daily.
This school year our school participated in an all school book club. We choose a text and each week students would read the text at home with their families, participate in vocabulary activities in school, and projects revolving around the text during the school day. This book club was a huge success that bonded our school and families together as a community with a common theme - a love for literacy!
It is these memorable moments like this that create a love for reading.
We are asking for the funds to once again implement a book club for our school. With these funds each student will get a copy of Wayside School is Falling Down to read with their families. We will then discuss and complete activities relating to the text at school.
