Our students are passionate, resilient human beings, who care deeply about creating authentic and meaningful learning experiences in the theatre. Our students create theatre that transforms lives and improves the greater Chico community. In the aftermath of the devastating Camp Fire, even after some of them have lost everything, they are pursuing their performance passions even deeper than before.
During my time at this school, I've seen them take on high-level leadership positions from stage management to set design to acting roles.
And now, I see them taking on leadership to heal our community.
My Project
During our trip to England and Scotland, we'll have the opportunity to take an acting class at the Globe Theatre. Students will perform on the Globe stage and take a private backstage tour of the theatre!
After our time in London, we'll head to Edinburgh to perform at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
In 1947, the Edinburgh International Festival was formed as an event to promote peace and unity in the world after World War II. Eight uninvited theatre companies traveled to the Festival and participated on its fringes. These companies attracted so much attention and enthusiasm that a new festival was born, The Edinburgh Festival Fringe! Today, with nearly 3,000 productions, 40,000 performances and thousands of performers from across the globe, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe is the largest performing arts festival in the world!
