My Students

I have the privilege of working with special education students in grades kindergarten through second. The students I work with have learning disabilities and speech/language impairments. They come from various socioeconomic backgrounds and bring so many great characteristics to the classroom.

My students have an eagerness to learn and love learning in new and creative ways.

They are excited to try new strategies and use new materials to acquire different skills. Watching them grow and progress is one of the many rewards of being able to work with this population of students.

My Project

We need a new guided reading table to fit the space we have. Our current table has seen better days and has nonadjustable legs so the children's legs don't fit under the table. We sit around the table. I walk around the table so I can hear each child read since they are all sitting so far from me. This new guided reading table will fit our second graders perfectly! Students will be excited to work at this new space where they can tuck their legs under the table and lean on a nice work space. Each student in our guided reading groups will have a comfortable work space as we foster a love of reading in our classroom! Support my students' need for an efficient, productive guided reading table.
