This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach a 3rd grade ICT class in a Title I school where classroom supplies and materials are limited. The students are excited to learn and come to school each day. It is important to insure that children enjoy learning with little stress. This is exactly what elementary school should be about. They will take their joy of learning into the next grade and beyond. Therefore, they need all the necessary supplies and materials that will make them successful, independent, and confident learners. With your help this can continue.
My Project
Reading can be a challenging subject to teach if the students are not interested in the reading material. For this reason, I'd like to engage my 3rd grade ICT classroom with vast levels of differential instruction in each subject. This approach requires a lot of preparation and copies to supply each student. A foldable helps students to retain information and refer back to their previous learning in an organized way. Students will be able to create interactive notebooks with a foldable to help with learning in reading, writing, and grammar through the year. Students will come to school excited about learning on a daily basis. My students will use the paper and pencils provided to create foldables and other learning manipulatives. They will also use the paper to create various models and complete several projects throughout the school year. Your contribution to this project will allow me to provide my students with the materials that they need to learn their state standards for the 3rd grade curriculum.
