Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach 37 wonderful students in the 5th grade! They are an amazing group of students that are from various backgrounds. My students are in the process of expanding their reading and improving their writing, as well as practicing their creative minds through their work in ELA.
My students are motivated and hard-working children from Paterson, New Jersey.
School 24 is a Title I school that is filled with students from low-income families. Some of my students have been exposed to gang-violence and financial and family struggles, yet they always come to school each day with a good attitude and motivation to learn.
My Project
Our classroom is the only room in the building that does not have a printer. It also does not have a smart board. Can you imagine a classroom that does not have either or? Unfortunately, when both printers in the building are broken, I am unable to print out any resources/worksheets for my classroom. This makes it challenging at times because many of the resources the students use is found online through our Wonders program.
In our ELA classroom, my students practice their writing and imagination skills through narratives, opinion, and explanatory writing.
It would be wonderful if my students can print out their classwork through the class printer in color and ink.
