My Students
I am the proud elementary math and science teacher of twenty-three fourth and twenty-three fifth graders in public school. I have been a highly effective teacher for the last four years based on my students' performance on standardized tests. My students are African-American, Haitian Creole, and Hispanic descent with 90% receiving free or reduced school meals. Our school is in a high poverty neighborhood and the majority of my students live in overcrowded housing projects and many others live in temporary housing shelters. Nevertheless, they are excited about learning and they come to school with the hope, expectation and enthusiasm. Your donation truly makes a difference. Thank you for your support.
My Project
I am working with my school to change our style of teaching to bring our students into 21st Century Learning. I'm making it my mission for my students to grow and to bring them the best materials, resources and classroom furniture to meet their needs.
I am in the process of changing my classroom's traditional seating and learning into a 21st Century Learning Environment.
I am requesting special furniture to meet the needs of my students. I want to establish different learning centers in my classroom which will consist of: couches, pillows and more. I have requested Gaiam Backless Balance Ball Chairs and Wobble Chairs to help meet the needs of my students to help encourage all styles of learning.
It's hard to sit all day long at standard desk to learn and stay focus. I want to help my students achieve and be successful. Please consider supporting this project so my students can have the best seating.
