Help my fifth graders launch into an unforgettable experience that will allow them to imagine, explore, and investigate science! Our elementary school in Orlando, Florida is a diverse community where students come from different backgrounds and have a variety of needs. 58% of our students receive free and reduced lunch benefits, and some do not get the opportunities to explore the wonders around them that are available to expand their learning.
My students are leaders who are passionate about science and the world around them.
They love learning through hands on investigations and welcome the opportunity to take on design challenges.
Our students will venture to Kennedy Space Center to experience a full day of investigation and exploration! The students will get the opportunity to learn from a veteran shuttle astronaut, partake in a hands-on engineering challenge where they get to design and build a Mars rover prototype, and explore the Saturn V Moon Rocket while learning about the Apollo program.
Our students will expand their knowledge of space science and scientific investigations by experiencing it first hand.
Our students will be able to take the concepts we have discussed in class and see them in action. They will also have the opportunity to see how the skills we teach can be used in the real world to help people do incredible things.
