I teach in a small neighborhood school in Chicago . My students come to school each day eager to learn. I am in awe of their enthusiasm, creativity, and commitment to their learning. As their teacher, I am responsible to making sure they are given the best resources possible in order to be successful. I am hoping to really build a comfortable setting for my students to learn and am in need of resources to accommodate our small group and whole group meeting spaces.
My Project
These items (stools and a Horseshoe Table) will allow for us to have a designated meeting place in our classroom for small group instructions. Prior to this, we have been meeting in random locations such as the floor, or grouping desks together among the whole class.
Having a location separate in the classroom will allow for a comfortable setting in which my students can focus on their individualized learning during guided reading and guided math instruction.
During guided reading, students will be using this space to read books according to their individualized level and at their own pacing. During guided Math activities, we will use this space to work on Math instruction and activities geared toward their individual level. This project will also allow me to monitor and track their learning during these activities.
Please help us establish a comfortable meeting place that will add consistency and routine to our learning environment.
