My students are an active group of kiddos who are just learning the ins and outs of full day school. We are an energetic group of four- and five-year-olds who are eager and willing to learn!
Our school is a diverse community with a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds and a variety of cultures.
Many of my students are English language learners. I have a mixture of regular and special education students. We are in a suburban town of Hartford.
My Project
Our classroom is in need of fine motor games, activities and tools. For example, while using the Squeeze, Scoop and Count game the children will develop skills in number recognition and eye/hand coordination. They will also be strengthening their fine motor at the same time. It will also help to have the fine motor tweezers for the students to scoop up pom poms and empty them into a water bottle. The students will be able to use these materials during literacy and math centers, when they are using our explore tubs. We have 8 tubs with fine motor activities or games for the students to explore and help build their fine motor skills.
