My 27 kindergartners are amazing! Our classroom is truly a place where magic occurs. The work we do in this classroom is building relationships, staying with the group, following directions, and accessing general education content in different ways. We celebrate little wins together each day.
Our class consists of special needs students, English language learners, and advanced learners.
Some students have not been in a school setting before joining my class, and face many challenges adapting to routines and expectations. My school has wonderful parents who participate in their child's educational experiences and value education as an important part of their child's future.
Before long, the students are engaged, excited, and taking on new challenges. They arrive each day with smiles and high fives!
My Project
Help bring our our listening center into the 21st century. My students love listening to books in our current listening center! However, the equipment we have only works with cassette tapes. I currently convert all the books on CD to tapes. Kindergartners have difficultly with the cassette controls and often push the record button and accidentally record over the story.
Additionally, most audio books are no longer sold on cassette.
I would like to provide my class with the most current books and means books on CD. The storage space would allow the students a space to keep and organize their listening center devices.
