Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are a Title I school in a major city and a lot of our students come from difficult home lives. It's a high poverty area and this year our school budget has been cut severely. We need your help!
We are one of the few schools in the area that has a strong art program, and I am so grateful for it.
Over the past eight years that I have been here, I have seen more and more students turn to art as a form of expression. These students love art, and I think it's important to keep that love growing.
My Project
For the first time ever our elementary school is putting on a musical! The students were already excited to hear about this, but once they found out it was The Lion King they were over the moon! Now that we have the scripts and cast, it's time to start thinking about the shows.
We need your help purchasing makeup to bring the Lion King characters to life!
The makeup brand I've chosen has a variety of fun colors for all the animals we have in the show, while at the same time is high quality for students with sensitive skin. I am also asking for brushes to help apply it, wipes for easy clean up after, and a few butterfly wings for our ensemble characters.
