Kindergarten is so exciting in our classroom! We have 19 students that are energetic, curious, and eager to learn through hands on projects that have real value to their lives. We are located in a large impoverished urban district that is full of diversity. Our classroom is a blend of general and special education students. The curiosity and excitement these young children display is catching. As their teachers, we are looking for new and creative ways to engage our scholars in their education, especially in Math and Science.
Our Kindergarten students will feel like real scientists in their new lab coats during Science time. Safety goggles will keep them safe and teach them the importance of safety and following procedures during experiments. Our plan is to teach our students the scientific process through STEM and real life problem solving.
Kindergarten is an ideal age to encourage their curious minds through hands on projects and experiments.
These materials will help us keep our young scholars engaged and excited while making sure to assess the Common Core Standards in Science. Our students already have a lot of practice with moving through rotations for hands on activities in Math, so adding Science to the mix will be ideal!
