For many of my 5 and 6 year old students this class is their first school experience. They begin their learning journey with little more than cautious curiosity and bloom into readers, writers, and problem solvers by year's end. It's truly an amazing transformation!
We are a "Leader in Me" school and use the 7 Habits of Happy Kids program to achieve our school mission statement "Creating a Community of Learners and Leaders".
We are a small rural school in a caring, close community. Everyone visiting our school notices the warm, supportive atmosphere created by our staff and community.
We would like to be able to carry on the learning both in and out of our classroom with a Learning Garden right outside our doors. The Frame It All Raised Garden Beds will be the perfect answer to address keeping the area both well defined for, and easily accessible to our young learners.
We envision a quiet place with carefully selected plants to attract caterpillars, butterflies, and other insects to help support our study of life cycles.
We will also have the added potential to expand to attractions for hummingbirds, etc.
A bench which converts to a table would offer our students a space to observe, learn, and reflect on nature, or read, relax, and enjoy the serenity. Donors to our project will help make our dream a reality.
