Our school serves Pre-K through 6th grade, and our students come from a variety of backgrounds. While some students have all the support they need for success; others could use a little more help. The students who attend our school come from very diverse backgrounds, from poverty to upper-middle class. All of our students push themselves to be the best they can be.
My students are very excited to be 5th graders this year, and I would love to make the year even more special for them.
My Project
My class has just started reading The Lightning Thief and already love it! This is the first class I have ever read this book with, and they are already asking for the next one. The Percy Jackson books have gotten my students excited for reading. I want to keep that excitement strong and give them what they want. A class set of The Sea of Monsters would go a long way to getting those reluctant readers happy about reading, and the Percy Jackson books are great for girls and boys. Plus, they get to learn about all the Greek gods!
