My Students

As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school population, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with a creative and meaningful learning experiences.

My students thrive when they are motivated with interesting, well thought out lessons.

Like "typical" students, they want to feel successful; however, when faced with disabilities, feeling successful can be a real challenge.

My Project

The materials we are hoping for will be a life saver. We have received a very generous grant that allowed our school to purchase iPads which we use every day for Programming and coding. We work outside, in the classroom, and in the computer lab. Unfortunately, three of our iPads have already been shattered because we were unable to purchase covers to help protect them from falls. Many of our students have poor motor skills and drop them often which shatters the glass. Covers will help give access to these valuable tools to all of our students and protect them for future years to come.
