Physical education class is no longer your parents' gym class. Times have changed and so has our approach to teaching students the skills necessary to become healthy, happy, active adults. I teach approximately 800 amazing, diverse students throughout the week in elementary physical education class. I teach 29 general education PE classes and 4 adapted physical education classes each week. My students love to learn through movement!
Physical education class allows my students the opportunity to grow academically, socially, and physically.
Although my students may only have PE class once a week for forty minutes, we make every minute count.
In Arizona soccer is incredibly popular for all of my students. All grade levels and ability levels love to play. We are lucky to have beautiful weather that allows physical education class to be taught indoors and outdoors. What we don't have are actual soccer goals for my physical education classes to use.
Having soccer goals that we could easily use indoors and outdoors for PE would be so helpful.
All of my 800+ students would be able to benefit from these goals. They would allow students to kick for accuracy and not have to waste time chasing after a ball that just rolls between cones. There would also be no disagreements whether students actually scored a goal or not, which is a win-win for everyone!
